About Us
We are the McFarlanes, a family of 4 (plus dog) taking 13 months to step out of reality. The original plan was a year of international travel, to see new places, discover different cultures, maybe learn a new language and try all sorts of exotic foods! But then COVID-19 changed everything. We needed a new plan.
We are so fortunate to live in Canada, a huge country that people from all over the world dream of exploring and so Plan B was hatched. Within two months, we bought an RV, kitted it out, rented out our Vancouver home and hit the road. Our hope is to see as much of our spectacular country as we can, to learn about the many cultures that make up the mosaic of Canada and to understand the historical events that shaped our "home and native land".
Harvey
Harvey is our trusty tiny home on wheels. At least we hope he is trusty as he is new to us! He is a 22' Winnebago Spirit with everything we need to live, work and play crammed into about 175 square feet.
Revi
I'm Revi, the goofball of a dog! This new life is awesome. I get to go on great hikes every day, there are so many interesting smells at each place we stop and my humans are around all the time! My bed isn't nearly as comfy but I'm so tired after all the adventures that I hardly even notice.
Kirsten
Formerly known as a Pilates Instructor and Graphic Designer, I am now a master of 3-D Tetrus (aka fitting everything into Harvey), creative chef, home school teacher and explorer. I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with my guitar, seeing some far flung corners of Canada and creating amazing memories with my family during this year away from reality.

I've been running various companies for the past 20 years and this escape is a much needed chance to hit the reset button. I am looking forward to having the time to play my ukelele again, to having adventures with my family and to be able to plan my next steps. I love travel, beer, good coffee, reading and learning about new technology.
Trevor
I'm Trevor! I'm going into grade 7 and while I'm sad that I won't get to see the Egyptian Pyramids, I'm really excited to ride my scooter in every province! I love playing guitar, mountain biking, skiing, reading, swimming and of course, scootering. I always have a hat on and my favourite colour is purple.

Hello! My name is Fiona, I have a couple of things that I enjoy doing. I love baking and cooking things is our very mini kitchen🍑🍒🍓🍇🍉🥓🍗🍟🥗🍝. I really like photography and taking photos of plants, the sky, and people!! Another thing I like to do is drawing and sketching...(Though, I am not so great at it.😬)
The last thing I must tell you is that I love emojis. You may find that a lot of the things I write will have an emoji or seven.🙄
Harvey the RV
For those who are interested, Harvey is a 22ft Winnebago Spirit. He is the smallest we could get away with (for maximum camping option flexibility) but big enough for our needs. Feel free to scroll through the photos to get a "virtual tour". The images at the top are from the dealer so you can see how clean he was when we first got him! Over time, we will update his photo gallery with shots of how we have made everything fit.
